I met Ashley at a little coffee shop I’d never been to before, we sat in cushy chairs and I had a matcha latte (was it called the Grinch Latte? It was almost Christmas). She’s a nurse, and a doula, and suddenly I felt so inadequate, but we connected there, that evening, and I was overjoyed when she chose me to be their doula. I floated home, called my mom, excited.
We have become friends, visiting each other for hikes and talks and I was invited to baby’s christening.
For their Grow session, we went for a walk- racing the sunset- in a glorious golden blanket of light. Then we hiked up a mountain- and I got completely schooled by this phenomenal 9-month-pregnant woman.
I love how tender Erik and Ashley are with each other, fitting together, familiar, but with the funny banter back-and-forth of teasing friends.
ps…many cacti were found on the bum after these photos. such are the sacrifices made for beautiful photos…
